Recap: Wolves 106, Bucks 85

The preseason finale for the Wolves was a very good one as the Wolves beat up on the Bucks 106-85. The final score however had little to do with the reason for all the optimism. Instead, the reasons were that the Wolves had Randy Foye, Sebastian Telfair, and Rashad McCants all back from injury, Jefferson looked like a beast yet again, and McCants put forth another nice game, proving to be the starter to replace Davis.

Throughout the preseason, injuries have been the biggest thing keeping the Wolves from getting their team put together, and on Friday night everything seemed to be resolved. Randy Foye played about 16 minutes, and was in the starting lineup. Sebastian Telfair also played, and came off the bench for 26 minutes to score 7 points. The biggest news however is that Rashad McCants is healthy again, and in his 31 minutes for the Wolves, put up 20 points while going 8-8 from the field.

Other than McCants, Big Al put forth another nice outing, and it is pretty much becoming a routine. In his 30 minutes, Jefferson netted 24 points, and also collected 12 boards. The rest of the starting lineup, Ryan Gomes and Theo Ratliff also played well. Gomes played 30 minutes and collected 7 boards to go along with his 15 points. Ratliff continued to impress, scoring 13 points in just 25 minutes of play.

Some of the other key players outside of these starters were Chris Richard, who collected 6 rebounds in just 16 minutes, and Craig Smith who scored 8 points in 23 minutes.

In case you’re wondering (and you might be able to tell from previous comments), the starting lineup was the following:

Randy Foye
Rashad McCants
Ryan Gomes
Al Jefferson
Theo Ratliff

If I were you, I’d expect that same lineup when the Wolves open the regular season next Friday against the Nuggets.
